Sir,

I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that, in accordance with the arrangements made in 1875 for the annual revision of the rate at which the Dollar is issued at Hong Kong, in the Straits Settlements, and on the China Station, for Imperial Service payable in this country in sterling, My Lords have caused the necessary calculations to be made of the average price of standard silver in the London market during the calendar year 1885 and of the corresponding value of the Mexican Dollar.
